Nude-pinks are my favourite colour to wear on the lip for a versatile and very chic look. I'm reviewing 6 of them.
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Nude
Price: $9.00 CDN
A true nude-pink that leans slightly beige. Very wearable, but watch out if you have a medium to dark skin tone. This is one of the palest in the bunch and is tricky to pull off if you aren't pale. The pigmentation is great, and I love Revlon's quilted casing. The wear is about 2 hours.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Just Enough Buff
Price: $8.00 CDN
One of my favourite drugstore nudes, but many will disagree. The pigmentation is rather poor and the lipstick itself is very hard. The reason this is one of my top picks for drugstore is that it is perfect to slightly lighten the lips, not give a completely mask-like effect. It is definitely a matter of personal preference and a bit of a hit-or-miss for this one. Wear is 1 hour.
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Rosedew
Price: $8.00 CDN
This is not really a nude at all, rather a light pink, but subtle enough to be grouped with these other lipsticks. The colour is absolutely gorgeous - a warm toned medium pink. What kills it is the pearl finish. The glitter is very, very obvious on the lips when applied. However, this is a really great lip colour when blotted down. The wear is a pretty good 3 hours when worn blotted down.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Airy Fairy
Price: $7.00 CDN
This is a rather neutral, slightly cool leaning medium pink. When examined closely, there is a very fine gold sheen in the tube that does not show up on the lips. This is a little darker than the lipsticks previously mentioned, so it's great for medium to dark skin tones. For me, the cons are 1) it pulls very mauve-ish purple on my skin, and 2) the Rimmel scent is unpleasant and plasticky smelling, almost like NARS. Wear is about 2-3 hours.
MAC Lipstick in Hue
Price: $17.50 CDN
My favourite MAC lipstick. Hue is a Glaze finish, so it gives a lovely moisturized feeling to the lips. The colour is warm-toned light pink, leaning more pink than nude. A really lovely colour to wear with a smokey eye. I love the vanilla MAC scent. This one does not wear very well because of its finish, and it does emphasize dry lips. This is a very light colour that may be more suited towards lighter skin tones. The wear on this is less than 2 hours.
MAC Lipstick in Viva Glam V
Price: $17.50 CDN
This is a darker nude colour that is warm toned, a more brown based nude than the ones previously mentioned. This applies rather gritty because of the gold toned glitter in the tube. I hardly pull this one out because of the unpleasant application, but the colour itself is lovely. The glitter is much less apparent on the lips. The wear is about 3 hours.
